Friends of Negro Spirituals

Friends of Negro Spirituals is a 501(c)(3) public education organization which welcomes people of any age, gender, ethnicity, race, color, creed, religion, or political affiliations who are interested in learning and educating the public about the American Slavery-born heritage of Negro Spirituals folk songs, relevant history, and its Keepers, past and present. We are an organization that preserves Spirituals and Spirituals history and enriches communities through offering knowledge abut the Spirituals heritage.

Friends of Negro Spirituals was established in November 1999 with the purpose of preserving the genre of songs known as Negro Spirituals and informing the public about these songs through education and participation.
